Oomūli feature guides

Appearance and accessibility

Choose comfortable colors, text size and display settings without changing how your teammates see Oomūli.

Reviewed:

Choose light or dark display

  1. Open More on a phone or Tools & settings on a computer. Select Appearance & text size under Preferences. On a large desktop, the sidebar also has an Appearance shortcut. You must be signed in to set your personal appearance.
  2. In Make Oomūli yours, choose Display mode. Light keeps the light version; Dark keeps the dark version; Follow device follows your device’s light or dark setting.
  3. Check the page as you change the setting. Changes apply immediately; there is no Save button.

Choose colors, outlines and text size

  1. Under Color palette, choose the theme you want. Each theme has its own light and dark version; Display mode controls which one you see.
  2. Choose Seasonal if you want the colors to change with Northern Hemisphere seasons. The current season is named in the choice and appearance summary. Choose any other palette to keep it year-round.
  3. Turn Card outlines on for borders around cards or off for fewer outlines. This is separate from your palette.
  4. Choose Text size to make the app easier to read, then close the dialog. Reopen Appearance & text size whenever you want to adjust it.

Appearance stays in this browser and does not change your teammates’ screens. Another browser or device can have different choices.

Use fullscreen when available

  1. In Appearance & text size, find Fullscreen. Select Enter fullscreen if your browser offers it.
  2. Use the extra room to view the app. Your device may reveal system bars when you swipe from an edge.
  3. Return to the same setting and choose Exit fullscreen to leave it. Device and browser fullscreen behavior can differ.

Change language or accessibility preferences

  1. Open More on a phone or Tools & settings on a computer. Select Language & translation to choose the app language.
  2. Review any separate message-translation choices offered. Changing the app language does not rewrite messages your team has already sent.
  3. Open Accessibility to review the message announcements and schedule reading options available to you. Choose what works with the way you use the app.

If your choice does not stay saved

  1. Check whether you are using the same browser and whether Display mode is set to Follow device. That setting can change the display when your device changes modes.
  2. If the app says preferences could not be saved, allow browser storage and try again. Clearing site data can remove appearance choices and unsent drafts, so preserve your work first.
